I want to own a bus in Malta

Malta skal have et nyt bussystem. Det er fuldstændigt nødvendigt, hvis landet skal fortsætte sin udvikling.  For at komme af med de gamle busser og bus-system, har regeringen forgyldt bus-ejerene og overbetalt for busser og bus-licencer.Går bus-ejerne tilmed med i det nye system får de udover de store beløb også en 10 årig jobgaranti. Man skulle have været busejer på Malta.

Bus owners sell 343 buses to the government, so far

Bus owners had by this afternoon signed contracts to sell 343 buses to the government. They include 101 low floor buses and 242 of the older makes.

The total number of buses is 508.

The Transport Ministry said that a substantial number of the owners had also declared they wished to join the new bus service operator.

In terms of the agreement between the government and the Public Transport Association €98,000 will be paid for the old buses and €123,000 for the low-floor types

I en artikel i EPN.dk af 7. januar 2010 opgøres overskudet i hans virksomhed til

2004/05: 1,3 mio. kr.
2007:  17 mio. kr.
2008:  51 mio. kr.

Dvs. et overskud på ca. 70 mio. samlet.

Selvfølgelig er sponsoratet  trukket fra før overskudet gøres op, men alligevel beretiger et sådan overskud ikke rigtig til "sponsorat til et tre-cifret millionbeløb". Det er vist sund fornuft.
